Amla, also known as Indian Gooseberry is a herb native to India and is known for its fruits with the same name. Its fruits are small, round in shape and resembling a berry. They have translucent light-green skin. The fruits are juiced for their extracts and dried into a powder that can be used for a variety of purposes. Amla powder has a balance of bitter, sweet and sour flavours to it. It is widely used in traditional Indian Ayurvedic medicine and is known to fight a number of health ailments and diseases.


Ashwagandha root has a Latin name, ‘Withania somnifera’. It is a five foot tall deep-green leafed shrub which belongs to the Solanaceae family. The root has clusters of pale yellow flowers and a red fruit growing in the center of the flower. The roots grow up to eight to twelve centimeters long and are used as organic herbs. It is said to have a pretty unique and strong flavour when brewed as a tea.
